Back in September, the Irish faced a similar situation to the one they face now. They had lost two games in a row and seemed to be floundering.
However, fortunes were reversed, and four straight wins were produced.
As tough as the loss to USC was, there is still football to be played for the Irish.
That is what the leaders of this team have to stress to their teammates.
For a couple of Irish veterans, keeping the Irish up at practice is a full time job, but one that they readily embrace.
Center Braxston Cave says, “Everybody’s up. We’re not going to let one game ruin our season. We’ve still got a lot of football to play, and we know that we have to take it one week at a time, and just work on finishing and completing our whole game, playing the way we know how to.”
Safety Harrison Smith adds, “There have been some pretty inexplicable things, not unbelievable because they happened, but you just can’t think like that. You’ve always got to think that you’re going to make the next play.”
Countdown to Kickoff begins on Channel 16 at 2:30 on Saturday as the Irish take on the Midshipmen of Navy.
