Notre Dame football has reached the halfway point for spring practices and are now exactly two weeks away from the first look at the Irish in the Blue & Gold game.
The focal point this spring has been the quarterback battle with Tommy Rees, Andrew Hendrix, Everett Golson, and Gunner Kiel all in the mix to start in the fall.
Additionally, there are other important positional battles happening at cornerback, wide receiver, and outside linebacker.
Few positions are likely to be officially decided this spring, but Irish coach Brian Kelly says he likes his team's progress heading into the spring game.
"I think we're where we wanted to be as we're starting to get a good sense and feel of some of those guys that didn't get a lot of playing time last year. We're starting to develop some consistency in communication on the offensive side of the ball in terms of what we want. We've got a lot of evaluating to do at the quarterback position. Each one of them is individually distinct from the other. They have their own strengths and weaknesses that we're working on right now,” says Coach Kelly.
