Irish land 5-star running back

Hours after Manti Te'o lost out on the Heisman Trophy, Notre Dame landed one of its biggest recruits since Te'o chose the Irish four years ago.

Greg Bryant, a 5-star running back from Delray Beach, Florida committed to Notre Dame Sunday after an official visit. Bryant is considered the 2nd best running back in the country, according to rivals.com. He was recruited by Tony Alford.

Bryant stands 5'11" and weighs 197 pounds. He will graduate from American Heritage School in May.

Bryant chooses Notre Dame over the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Oklahoma.

His commitment is not official until he signs a National Letter of Intent in February. Notre Dame cannot comment on Bryant until then.
