Notre Dame won their first bowl game since 2010 on Saturday and are looking to ride that momentum in to 2014. The Irish have plenty of reasons to be excited about the future, but they also have some questions that still need answered.

One of the biggest questions appears to have already been answered with the multiple reports stating that the New York Jets linebackers coach Brian Van Gorder will be the new defensive coordinator. Van Gorder coached with Brian Kelly at Grand Valley State.

The Irish will also get Everett Golson back in just a matter of weeks. Golson will begin working out with the team this winter. Golson's mobility gives the Irish another dimension on offense and could prove to be huge next year.

"We like our offense to be a little bit more multi-dimensional," Head coach Brian Kelly said. "We had 5 yards rushing from our quarterback and ran 90 plays [against Rutgers]. If we have a quarterback next year that has the ability to run the ball I feel like we will be difficult to defend."

The younger players aren't quite as worried about who will be back but instead are looking forward to heading into an off-season with a win.

"All the credit to the seniors with how they lead this football team and handed the torch to us as juniors and really wanting us to exceed where we went this year obviously," Irish running back Cam McDaniel said. "I think this did so much for us. I think this was a great game for us today, we are going to feed off of this into the off-season."

"With this 'W' it is going to be like 'alright we were able to play with everyone,'" Kicker Kyle Brindza added. "Lets just go out and take this win as a 1-0 victory and lets go into next season 1-0."

There do remain a couple of unanswered questions for the Irish. The biggest one being what will Stephon Tuitt do? Tuitt was evaluated as a possible second round draft pick in next years NFL draft but he could return to Notre Dame for his senior season. Brian Kelly said after the game that a decision from Tuitt would be coming soon.

The other question is who will be the new Offensive Coordinator. Right now there have not been any candidates named by Notre Dame.
