Golic on Golic: Junior a chip off the old block

Coming up on Saturday, Mike Golic, Jr. will start a game at Notre Dame Stadium for the first time.

His dad, Mike Golic, was a former Irish defensive end and is now the co-host of Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio.

Golic, Jr. got his opportunity when one of his closest friends, Braxston Cave, went down with an injury against Wake Forest.

Now, Mike, Jr. is looking to make the most of it, and if you are wondering, he's definitely a chip off the old block, or maybe not.

“I’m much, much better looking than my dad,” said Golic, Jr. “I want to put that out there for everyone right now. I’m the much better looking of the Mike Golics. Where do I go from here? I’m funnier. I’m smarter. Far more humble, I’m a way better dancer. He does have a great head of hair though. I will give him that, very full and rich waves. I can’t compete with him in that aspect.”

There will be more on the Golics on Countdown to Kickoff on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. on Channel 16. Notre Dame and Boston College kick off from Notre Dame Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
