A hearing was held Thursday for the former Notre Dame Assistant Football Coach, accused of striking his wife and holding her hostage in their Granger home last August.
41-year-old Corwin Brown is facing two felony counts of confinement and one felony count of domestic battery.
The incident last summer led to a 7 hour standoff with police that ended when Brown shot himself in the abdomen.
In January, a judge appointed a psychologist and a psychiatrist to evaluate Brown's mental status, while Brown continued counseling and treatment in Chicago.
The report from one of those doctors was provided to the court Thursday, but the second doctor has requested more time to do further testing.
Another hearing is set for May 29.
