Former Irish D-lineman Lynch denied waiver request; must sit out 2012 season

Former Notre Dame defensive lineman Aaron Lynch has been denied a waiver request to play in 2012 at South Florida, Bulls football coach Skip Holtz announced on twitter.

Lynch transferred to South Florida in April, citing family reasons. He from Florida and is getting married this weekend.

Anyone that transfer, must sit out a season. There are exceptions and Lynch hoped his circumstances would be enough for the NCAA to allow him to play in 2012. It apparently was not.

Lynch led Notre Dame in sacks in 2011 as a true freshman.
