Thousands of fans poured into South Bend this weekend to watch one of the most heated rivalries in football history.
For one father and son, Saturday’s Notre Dame vs. Michigan game was especially heated. That's because Dad is a Notre Dame fan and his son roots for Michigan.
They've been a household divided for many years, but still spent game day tailgating together. And, of course, they talked plenty of smack.
“When you grew up where we grew up, which is in the Ohio area, you're 40 minutes from Ann Arbor, you're two hours from South Bend and you're two hours from Ohio State. So it's always a coin toss which team you're going to root for and my son made a very bad choice and he picked Michigan,” said Joe Reynolds, a Notre Dame fan.
“He’s crazy. I’m just here supporting my team but it’s fun to come out here with him, talk some smack before the game,” said son Eamonn Reynolds, a Michigan fan.
When all was said and done Dad won bragging rights for the next year as Notre Dame took the victory.
