Decker switches commitment from Kelly, Irish to Urban, Ohio St

Notre Dame lost a major recruit on Sunday, just a few weeks away from National Signing Day.

4-star offensive lineman Taylor Decker, committed to Notre Dame since March, switched his commitment from the Irish to Ohio State.

Decker was recruited to Notre Dame by Tim Hinton. His position coach would have been Ed Warinner. But both coaches are now with Urban Meyer at Ohio State.

Decker is 6'8, 313 pound lineman from Ohio.

He's the 2nd de-commitment for the Irish in recent weeks joining defensive back Ronald Darby.

With Decker out of the mix, the Irish are still attempting to go after the Armstead brothers. It could also open up a spot for Mike Golic Jr. to return for a 5th season.

National Signing Day is February 1st.
