Notre Dame football may be hitting the recruiting trifecta.
The Observer reports that top quarterback prospect Gunner Kiel will enroll at Notre Dame. The news comes after a wild Monday of speculation that Kiel was going to part ways with LSU.
While all that was going on, Armond Armstead and his dad Guss were touring Notre Dame. Armond is a top notch defensive lineman who is transferring out of USC.
His brother Arik, he could play the line on either side of the ball, is considered one of the best recruits in the nation as well, wants to enroll early and wants to play basketball at whatever school he ends up at.
The two appear to be a package deal at this point.
Irish tight ends coach Mike Denbrock and Director of Player Development Dave Peloquin gave the Armsteads the tour on Monday. Among the stops was the Joyce Center. At one point, the Armsteads asked if they could see the men's basketball locker room--obviously hoping to check out the digs for Arik.
The Armsteads leave for home in Sacramento on Tuesday, according to Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee. Davidson reports that the Armsteads will sit down together as a family on Tuesday and make a decision.
Tuesday--just another wild day in the football recruiting world.
