Notre Dame window for BCS all but closed

Notre Dame's hopes for reach the BCS are all but over.

Despite cracking the top 25 in both the AP and Coaches Poll after a 45-21 win over Maryland on Saturday, the Irish did not make it in the BCS Top 25 late Sunday night.

The Irish are ranked 24th in the Associated Press Poll and 25th in the coaches poll.

Notre Dame has won three games in a row, improving to 7-3 on the season. The Irish host Boston College in the Notre Dame Stadium finale Saturday at 4pm then travel to Stanford for the regular season finale a week later.

Notre Dame was hoping with wins over BC and Stanford, the Irish would still have a slight chance to crack into the top 14 in the BCS Standings, to have an opportunity to be selected to a BCS bowl game.

With Stanford, previously ranked in the top 5 in the country, losing to Oregon on Saturday night and dropping to 9th in the BCS, Notre Dame's very small window for BCS hope appears to be completely closed.
