LAFAYETTE, Ind. A Lafayette massage therapist is getting ready for some more foreign travel.

Jerry Scott has been able to parlay his craft into traveling the world for the past 16 years as a member of the medical staff for USA Swimming. He leaves this week for Kazan, Russia, for the World University Games. He's been to Japan, Spain, Russia and multiple Olympic Games.

Scott tells the Journal and Courier he never considered himself a fan of swimming. When he volunteered to go to Indianapolis in 1989 for the NCAA championships, he didn't know much about the sport. Now he can recite world record performances.

His work with USA Swimming is all voluntary. He receives complimentary team gear and airline and hotel accommodations to events.
