DUBLIN, Ohio The Presidents Cup ended Sunday the same way it always does - with an American victory, and Tiger Woods delivering the winning point.
Woods' back flared up on him in the final hour at Muirfield Village. He still managed to beat Richard Sterne on the 18th hole. That gave the Americans the 18 points they needed to win the Presidents Cup for the fifth straight time.
It was the third straight Presidents Cup that Woods won the cup-clinching match.
The Americans had a 14-8 lead going into singles. They were on the cusp of winning for most of the afternoon as the Internationals tried to stage a rally. The Internationals needed to win the last seven matches on the course. They kept it suspenseful as long as they could.
