Westview, Marquette Catholic advance to boys hoops state finals

Chandler Aspy scored 19 points and fellow senior Jordyn Bontrager added 18 as Westview defeated Cass 65-58 Saturday at Huntington North in the 2A Semi-State.

The Warriors are now off to the state finals for the first time since winning it all in 1999 and 2000.

Westview trailed 14-13 after one quarter but held Cass to just five 2nd quarter points to open up a 29-19 lead at halftime. Cass closed to within four heading to the 4th but Westview held on the rest of the way.

Jamar Weaver added 14 points for Westview.

Westview will face Park Tudor next Saturday at 12:45pm in the 2A State Championship game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Marquette Catholic beat Liberty Christian 72-61 to advance to the 1A State Championship game where they will face Barr-Reeve next Saturday at 10am at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
