South Bend Washington wide receiver Gehrig Dieter followed up an Indiana set record of 373 yards receiving with 346 yards receiving.

Friday night, he topped both marks--this time setting the national record with 447 yards through the air as South Bend Washington destroyed Elkhart Central 63-10 at School Field.

The Panthers never let off the gas, keeping Dieter and Notre Dame recruit David Perkins in for the entire game.

In fact, Dieter caught a 39 yard pass with four seconds left in the contest to set what is believed to be the best ever in the nation. In the 4th quarter with the score already 56-10, Washington coach Antwon Jones called for a play action---as Dieter hauled in a 90 yard touchdown reception to make it it a 53-point advantage.

Dieter had four touchdowns, including an interception return for a touchdown in the 1st quarter as Washington led 28-6 after one. Perkins scored two first quarter touchdowns. He was ejected from the game late in the contest after an on the field altercation.
