St. Joe looks to get back to state final for second year in a row
The St. Joe Indians are back in familiar territory, Semi-State.
The Tribe looked to advance to Lucas Oil Stadium for the 2nd year in a row and third time in five years Friday night at 7:30 when they host West Lafayette.
Last year, St. Joe shocked everyone with an incredible run to the state finals following a losing record in the regular season.
This year, the Indians have been favored and have lived up to the billing. St. Joe beat rival Marian 21-0 to capture the sectional championship two weeks ago then posted the same score to knock off Jimtown in last week's regional title game.
St. Joe senior quarterback Nick Carmola credits last year's seniors with building the foundation of leadership that the current seniors have continued.
If St. Joe wins, they could face Chatard in the finals. Chatard beat the Indians in 2007 and 2010.
