Players on the John Glenn varsity boys basketball team took a break from the playing courts Saturday, to go shopping with some less fortunate students in Michiana.

They held their second annual "Shop with a Player" event.

The young students were dropped off and they and the players loaded into large vans and headed off to Walmart in Plymouth.

Thanks to donors, before the event the coaching staff bought items the kids needed like hats and jeans. But Saturday, the kids could pick out whatever they wanted, and they headed for the toy aisle.

An hour later, 22 carts full were brought to the checkout.

After the kids left, players and their parents wrapped all 350 toys to be handed back out to the kids and their families later this week.
