Penn shoots for 19th football sectional title on Friday night

As sectional championships are on the line Friday night throughout the state of Indiana, undefeated Penn will go on the road to Fort Wayne to face Carroll in the 5A title game.

The Kingsmen are in search of their 19th sectional championship, but they have not won one since 2008.

Coach Cory Yeoman says winning sectionals is definitely on the checklist of things his program looks to accomplish each year.

“One of the goals every year to win the sectional, and its always a tough road to hoe…no different this year,” Coach Yeoman said. “It's one of the goals--not the only goal. One thing that is nice about winning the sectional is that you are guaranteed to be practicing together again for one more week. These guys are great guys to work with and practice with. They enjoy each other, play hard for each other. It makes it an awful lot of fun to go out and practice every week, and that gives us one more to do it.”

The Kingsmen and the Chargers kickoff on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Fort Wayne.
