Penn basketball star Jeff Laidig will miss the next 6 to 8 weeks with a broken foot.
Laidig, who play division one basketball at Belmont next season, says he's been battling a stress fracture in his foot all season and it broke during last Friday's win over St. Joe.
The senior is set to have surgery Wednesday afternoon in Indianapolis. As if his week wasn't bad enough, Laidig had trouble getting to his appointment.
"Car won't start in a parking lot in Carmel and I have surgery in an hour so a random lady is drive me and my mom to the hospital," Laidig wrote on twitter.
Sectionals begin February 28th. That's seven weeks away--right around when Laidig is expected to return to the court.
Penn has also been without its other star--Leo Svete due to a concussion.
The Kingsmen are just 4-6 this season but off to a 2-0 start in the Northern Indiana Conference.
