Penn wins girls hoops regional title as St. Joe, NorthWood and O-D fall

The Penn girls basketball team is headed to Semi-State for the 2nd straight year. The Lady Kingsmen are the only area team left standing after Saturday's Regionals.

Penn defeated Michigan City 59-55 Saturday morning then romped East Chicago Central 57-33 Saturday night to capture the 4A Regional Championship at Valpo.

The Kingsmen [25-1] will face Indy North Central in Semi-State at either Warsaw or Plymouth next Saturday. The site and time will be determined on Sunday.
