The last time Mishawaka played for a state title was 38 years ago. In 1974, the Cavemen played Indianapolis Cathedral at School Field . Tomorrow, those two teams meet again at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

It has been such an improbable run for Bart Curtis' squad. Mishawaka started the year, beset by injuries, losing three of their first five. But now the cavemen have used their option attack to reel off nine straight wins. They'll be a heavy underdog against a cathedral squad that has won four of the last six State Titles. Still, the Mishawaka players are looking forward to the opportunity to make a little history for their school.

Mayor Dave Wood has asked Cavemen fans to come out and give the team a sendoff tomorrow morning at 7:30.

And if you can't make it to Indy, you can watch on WHME TV-46. They will carry the game live from Indy Saturday afternoon at 3:30.
