Marian hockey team donates to Toys for Tots

The Marian boys hockey team traded in their skates for toys Wednesday for the school's annual Toys for Tots drive.

Each year the hockey team asks students to donate a toy or $5 to Toys for Tots.

In exchange, the students get to dress down for the day, giving them a chance to get out of their typical khaki pants and collared shirts.

Wednesday morning's collection is just the first step in making sure children here in Michiana get a gift on Christmas morning.

Marian hockey player Adam Diltz said, "It's nice to help them out, you know. We do after this, like, a week later, to the factory, and we help out there and organize and everything. We get them to bring them to the kids. It's nice."

Marines wee at the school as well to accept the toys and donations.
