Ryan Avery scored 20 points as the Lakeshore Lancers beat Muskegon Heights 61-48 in the Class B Boys Basketball Semifinals Friday night at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan.
Lakeshore will now head to Saturday night's state championship game for the first time in school history. They'll face defending state champion Lansing Sexton at 8pm Saturday night at the Breslin Center.
Loren Johnson scored 13 points and Alex Klunder added 10 for the Lancers.
Mike Davis led Muskegon Heights with 21 points.
The game was tied at 29 with nine seconds left in the 1st half when Muskegon Heights was whistled for a technical foul. Lakeshore made 1-of-2 free throws then got a bucket at the buzzer to take a 3-point lead into the half.
The Lancers extended the lead to 43-37 heading to the 3rd quarter then pulled away for the victory.
Lakeshore is now 24-2 on the season.
