Bryan Keim, Lakeshore High School Defensive Coordinator, has been hired as Head Football Coach to take over the program from legendary Head Coach Denny Dock who recently retired after 26 seasons at the helm for the Lancers.
The 33 year old Keim has been the Defensive Coordinator and Secondary Coach for the past two seasons at Lakeshore and was instrumental in the 2012 undefeated regular season and District Championship as well as the Semi-Final finish in the MHSAA playoffs this past season.
"We are extremely pleased to have Bryan take over where Coach Dock left off and be able to continue the continuity with our football program” said Athletic Director Greg Younger. “His success as our defensive coordinator the past two seasons has been well received and we look forward to him leading our entire program. Beyond his achievements on the football field, we feel that he is a leader who gets the very best from his players while also developing the kind of character and passion that fits here at Lakeshore. We are excited for Coach Keim to get going and established in our school and community as the Head Football Coach.”
“I am extremely honored and humbled to take over the program after Coach Dock and am privileged to have had the opportunity to work under him and learn from him for the past two seasons” said Keim. “What an opportunity for me to continue building a program that is well respected and established because of great leadership, a great community and a great school system.”
Keim was a three sport High School standout at Sturgis High School (1999). He continued his football career as a free safety at Central Michigan University from 1999-2002 and after graduation at CMU he transferred to Oakland University to continue his education and he played one season of collegiate baseball (2004) as well. Coach Keim’s coaching stops include two years at Lake Orion (MI) High School as the Varsity Defensive Line Coach (2006-7), four years as the Varsity Defensive Backs/Wide Receivers Coach at St. Joseph (MI) High School (2008-2011) and the past two seasons he served as the Defensive Coordinator/Secondary Coach at Lakeshore (2012-2013).
Bryan teaches 6th grade social studies at Lakeshore Middle School and resides in Stevensville with his wife Kelly and their son Treyjen (11), daughter Mckenna (7) and son Ryder (2). Keim’s father, Bill, previously served as Head Coach at Sturgis High School and brother Matt, is currently the Head Baseball Coach in Sturgis and served last season as a volunteer assistant here at Lakeshore HS with the football program.
