Friday night Lakeshore and St. Joe will square off for a District championship title. The Bears are confident after winning the regular season match up and the Lancers are hungry for revenge.
In week three of the regular season St Joe won the War by the Shore 32-20 in a game that never felt very close at all. The Bears know how difficult it will be to beat their rivals twice in one season.
"We have to be confident without going in thinking they aren't going to come at us and that they are not going to seek revenge," St. Joe senior and defensive tackle Nathan Rock said. "We have to give our best and we can't let up."
Like the week three match-up the Bears will get home field advantage and head coach Gandalf Church is excited to bring another huge game to Dickinson Stadium.
"Nobody is worried about weather, so don't worry about that," Coach Church said. "Come on out and cheer because it is just a great example of high school kids doing something positive, you can't get anything better than that on a Friday night."
Just a couple miles down Cleveland road the 7-3 Lakeshore Lancers have revenge on their minds.
"There is certainly some motivation," Lancer head coach Denny Dock said. "Call it revenge or call it what you want, but its the District championship and that is all you have to say. Furthermore if you say 'St. Joe' that generally grabs our attention to a little higher level. I talked to a couple of kids yesterday and said 'need any speeches any motivation anything?' they kind of smiled and said 'no coach, we are all good."
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph high school.
