Lakeshore advances to boys hoops regional final; Bridgman falls in Semis

Senior Keith Brushwyler scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds as undefeated Lakeshore edged Sturgis 37-36 in the boys hoops regional semifinals Monday night.

The Lancers are now 22-0 and will face South Haven Wednesday night at 7pm at Marshall with a spot in the State quarterfinals on the line.

Lakeshore, which played in the Class B state finals a year ago, returned just one starter from last year's squad making this year's run one many throughout the state did not expect.

Michael Welch added eight points, 7 rebounds and four assists for the Lancers.
In Class C, Bridgman saw its season come to an end with a 41-33 loss to White Pigeon in the Regional Semifinals at Constantine.

The Bees led 14-11 at halftime but the Chiefs used a 14-2 2nd half run to pull ahead by 11 in the 4th quarter. Bridgman closed back within five but could never get closer down the stretch.
