On the first night of high school football practice in Indiana, the Adams Eagles were all about fundamentals and endurance.
There is a ton of excitement for the football team as they head into 2014. Now in year four under Craig Redman, Adams has a remarkable 145 kids in their program.
They lose star running back Shaq Vann but return 16 starters but Redman admits it's hard to pinpoint what this might be able to accomplish this year.
"What to expect? I don't know," Redman says honestly. "The same thing is that we have a great team in Danny Pinter.
Pinter, a senior, is the team's starting tight end and defensive end.
He was the one in the off season that said, 'coach what do you want to do in the off season?" Redman said of Pinter. "And I said, 'you tell me.' So he drew up the off season and had people run. There's a lot of things he did team wise in the off season that was key."
After a 9-3 season in 2012, the Eagles were just 4-8 a year ago but that doesn't mean they have lost their passion and excitement.
"We're just full of energy every play," Pinter says. "Just go 100%. That's our motto. Just be like sophomore year. Last year we had a down year and we're just ready to get after it."
Adams opens up the season on the road at Northridge on August 22nd.
