Bremen returns to Semi-State for first time since 1997

The Bremen Lions have returned to Semi-State.

Although pretty much none of their players would remember the last time the tradition based Lions played in the Final Four.

Friday night, Bremen will travel to Fort Wayne and face Bishop Luers with a spot in the 2A State Finals on the line.

Bremen hasn't been this far since 1997, when they lost in the Semi-State round. The Lions won Semi-State in 1994 and 1995, going to win the state title in 94. They also won the state championship in 1989.

But it's been since the mid 90's when Bremen's been good in football. 2nd year coach Bob Holmes changed that last year, leading the Lions to their first winning season in a decade.

Now Bremen's undefeated and the entire community will hit the road to see the Lions face Luers Friday night.
