Younger Sharpe feeling right at home at Glenn

David Sharpe got his first taste of what being a head football coach is going to be like when his Glenn Falcons took on the Adams Eagles in a scrimmage Friday night at School Field.

Sharpe will make his official debut as the Glenn head coach next Friday night at North Judson when the 2013 high school football season opens up.

So far so good, says Sharpe.

"I'm comfortable--I love John Glenn," Sharpe says with a big smile during Friday's scrimmage. "It's a great community. My wife and I just moved into our house today with our little daughter. We're just thrilled to be a part of this and these kids are outstanding. Great kids to be around and it's fun to go to work."

Sharpe comes to Glenn after serving as an assistant at Jimtown. His dad Bill was the Jimmies legendary head coach for decades. Bill just retired as the Jimtown Athletic Director this summer and was in the stands Friday night to support his son.

Bill plans to be there every step of the way to follow his son.

Week two will be interesting---that's when the Sharpe's face off with the program they helped build---Jimtown.
