It was far from a packed house at Purcell Pavilion Saturday night as the Irish men's basketball hosted Catholic University in Notre Dame's final pre-season tuneup.
But there were some big names in the house.
Digger Phelps was there checking on the Irish as he often does when he can.
Then there was Florida coach Billy Donovan in South Bend watching a Notre Dame exhibition game. Doesn't make much sense does it?
Then you look at the Catholic roster and you see.... Billy Donovan, freshman---Gainesville, Florida.
Donovan watched his son battle the Irish and saw Notre Dame come away with a 72-47 victory. Donovan Jr. did not score in the game.
Ben Hansbrough did. The Irish guard scored 30 points to lead all scores. Tim Abromaitis had 13 and Scott Martin added 10.
Notre Dame will open up the regular season at home next Friday night at 8:30 against Georgia Southern. Muffet's Squad also opens at Purcell Pavilion at 4pm that day.
