Despite having won just five games in the last two years the Indiana Hoosiers are optimistic heading into the 2013 season. They return a total of 19 starters this year. On top of that they have three quarterbacks returning who have all seen playing time.
The Hoosiers will get Tre Roberson back following a broken leg injury last season. He passed for a career high 280 yards in the opener against Indiana State before being sidelined. Then there is junior Cam Coffman who came in and took over for Roberson. Coffman threw for over 2,700 yards and had 15 TD passes in 2015. The third option under center is sophmore Nate Sudfeld. In his freshman season he threw seven touchdowns and passed for over 600 yards.
Coach Kevin Wilson isn't naming a starter just yet but he knows all three will compete hard for the job and that is just what he wants saying "...we have a very very healthy competition. Those guys are great teammates and great leaders, all three of them. I think they are all capable of winning and I would love to see one emerge."
Only time will tell who will get the starting job August 29th when the Hoosiers open up their season against Indiana State.
