Marian High School is sending it’s girls soccer team to the state championship in Indianapolis tomorrow.
At the sendoff earlier today spirits were high amongst the team and their families as they loaded up the bus in Mishawaka to head south to Indy. Marian girls soccer team hopes to beat Providence at this Saturday’s showdown, a team that beat the Lady Knights in last year’s state championship game.
The girls’ coach, Djamel Sharmat said, “Our goal is to go and win it. Whether we are going to win it 1-0 or 10-0. The objective is to win it. We know how to get there, we know that team.”
As Marian takes on Providence, St. Joe’s girls soccer team will face Evansville Memorial for the 2-A soccer state finals tomorrow night at 6 p.m. and as Warsaw battles Columbus North for the 2-A boys final.
