Pitt gets name recognition heading into battle with Irish

Pitt coach Paul Chryst is rewarding his players for their selfless attitude by allowing the names to return to the back of their jerseys before next weekend's visit to fourth-ranked Notre Dame.

Chryst removed the names when he arrived on campus in January, saying he wanted his players to understand the team - and not individual attention - is what's most important.

Pitt drummed Temple 47-17 on Saturday to move to 4-4 on the season. Chryst stressed putting the nameplates back wasn't simply because the Panthers beat the Owls. He said it's a tribute to the team's attitude makeover.

The Panthers are looking for their first victory over a Top 5 opponent since knocking off rival West Virginia in 2007.
