Penn standout quarterback Zack Oakley has verbally committed to play at Central Michigan, Kingsmen Head Coach Cory Yeoman tells NewsCenter 16.
Oakley received the offer from Central Michigan last week.
"I really like the school," Oakley said. "Central Michigan has got a great track record with their quarterbacks. Their last three quarterbacks threw for 3000 yards each season, and there are a lot of guys there who can coach quarterbacks, not just the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach."
A versatile and athletic player, Oakley can play many positions at the next level, but he is being recruited as a quarterback.
"It's all about football, Oakley said. "If my way onto that field isn't as quarterback, then I am perfectly okay with that."
Oakley led Penn to the 5A state title game as a sophomore. He'll be a senior this fall for the Kingsmen and is one of Michiana's top football players.
