Penn boys hoops take over 1st in NIC with win & Washington loss


The Penn Kingsmen boys basketball team has taken over sole possession of first place in the Northern Indiana Conference win a win Thursday night over arch rival Mishawaka and a loss by Washington.

The Panthers opened the night as the NIC leaders by a half game, but fell to 5-2 in league play with a 76-69 loss at Riley. Penn defeated Mishawaka 77-48 to move to 5-1 in the NIC and sole possession of 1st.

Marian crushed Adams 84-65 to move into a 3-way tie with Washington and St. Joe for 2nd place, a half game back of Penn.
