The Oregon Davis girl's basketball team completed the regular season with an impressive record of 16-2. One of those 16 wins came against semi-state bound 4A Penn.

Then they headed to Sectionals where they cruised to the schools seventh sectional title in eight years, three of which were won by this year's senior class.

While this group of seniors has certainly seen their share of success over the past four years, posting a record of 81-17. But they had not been able to get out of Regionals and advance to Semi-State.

That changed on Saturday when the Bobcats knocked off West Central 60-22 to earn themselves their first trip to semi-state in their high school careers and the schools first trip since 2007.

"It is such an unbelievable feeling," Senior forward Kendra Sauer said. "I mean we came up short two years in a row and coming here for the third year it is an awesome feeling and we are all just very proud."

Fellow senior Alicia McIntosh added "It is an amazing feeling, our dreams are actually coming true. I wouldn't want to do it with any other team, it is awesome."

The six seniors on the team have been playing together since the fourth grade and they say the bond they have developed extends way beyond the basketball court.

"I have played with them, since I was in 4th grade so we have a bond that can not be broken and we are friends on and off the court," Senior Ashley Campbell said. "It is awesome. We know each other inside and out and it is just incredible."

Now the Bobcats sit just one win away from a trip downstate and their first shot at a state championship since 2007. It would also give this senior class the chance to play together for another week and leave Oregon Davis with a couple more wins.

Tip off for Saturday afternoon's Semi-State game against Lafayette Central Catholic is set for noon.
