Notre Dame's best season in a decade has been built around Manti Te'o and a dominating defense. With a month to go in the season, the offense is making progress behind redshirt freshman quarterback Everett Golson.

Coach Brian Kelly left the Fighting Irish's 30-13 road victory at Oklahoma believing Golson had taken the next step in his development, showing real leadership and a better commitment to communicating with his teammates.

Golson says he made it his goal to lead better after he missed last week's win against BYU because of a concussion, and being sidelined helped him learn lessons he was able to apply once he was back.

With the win, his Irish (8-0) moved up to No. 4 in The Associated Press poll on Sunday.
