Notre Dame's Eric Jagielo drafted by the Yankees Thursday

The MLB Draft held Thursday night and Notre Dame's Eric Jagielo was taken with the 26th pick in the first round by the Yankees.

Jagielo was the Big East player of the Year and hit a sizzling .388 during the season following a great season in the Cape Cod League last summer.

With injury and age catching up with Alex Rodriguez, looks like Jagielo is the Yankees future at third base.

The Cubs had the no. 2 overall pick and selected third baseman Kris Bryant out of the Univ. of San Diego who led all of college baseball with 31 homers this past spring. The White Sox took high school shortstop Tim Anderson out of East Central Community College in Decautur, MS. The Tigers went pitching and took Univ. of Florida's Jonathon Crawford.
