#2 Notre Dame (13-0/1-0 ACC) prepare to host Boston College (10-5/1-0 ACC) in the second game of the ACC season Thursday night. The Irish have won 9 of the previous 11 games against the Eagles but know that no win in the ACC will come easy.
Muffet McGraw has her team out to a perfect start as they approach the mid way point of the regular season. They will look to remain unbeaten against a Boston College team they have never lost to inside Purcell Pavilion. The Irish lead the series 12-5 all time and won their last match up 102-54 back in 2008.
Plenty has changed about these two teams since '08 and the Eagles enter the game on a seven game win streak. Coach McGraw knows this will be no easy match up.
"B-C is a great rival game for Notre Dame," McGraw said. "It should be an exciting game. They have very good three point shooters, they also have a really good post player. A very good inside-outside game, it is going to be a challenge for us defensively to get out and guard the shooters. They score a lot of points and are a very well coached team."
The Irish expect Boston College to enter the game fired up and looking for a chance to knock off the number ranked two team in the country.
"People coming in here Purcell Pavilion] it is a Super Bowl for them," coach McGraw said. "It is a big game for them playing a top five team, it is really important for their program, they want to just make their mark. And it is a league game so every game is important for us as well. We have got to match their intensity. I think we have got to come out and be able to play hard right from the tip."
Tip-off for Thursday night's game is set for 7 p.m.
