ND Women look forward to opening game on aircraft carrier

The Irish women's basketball team opens the 2012-2013 season in a unique way Friday when it plays in the first ever women's basketball game on an aircraft carrier.

Notre Dame is ranked 7th in the country and will battle Ohio State at 4pm Friday aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown in South Carolina.

Muffet's Squad is coming off two straight trips to the national championship game but graduates three starters, including Dev Peters, Natalie Novosel and Brittany Mallory.

South Bend Washington grad and national superstar Skylar Diggins is back for her senior season. She's joined in the starting lineup by Natalie Achonwa and Kayla McBride. Freshman Jewell Loyd will also be a starter from day one.
