Matt Painter was among four Purdue coaches in Goshen Thursday night for the Boiler’s Coaches Caravan.

Painter loses two stars in JaJuan Johnson and E’Twaun Moore, but they will also bring back arguably the biggest star in Robbie Hummel, who was injured during the very first practice of the season.

Coach Painter says, “Robbie’s a unique player. You know, he defers to others. He is very unselfish. He’s a guy that’s continued to improve at Purdue, in terms of adding things to his game. He is going to be the focal point of our offense, and we will play through him, and we’ve played through him before, but he’s been so unselfish with guys like E’Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson, you know, with him, and now, he’s going to have to take on more of a burden in terms of scoring the basketball.”

Painter says Hummel is recovering well and will be ready to go when the season begins.
