After losing in the Class B State Championship game a year ago, Lakeshore had one goal in mind---get back to the Breslin Center.
The Lancers come up one win shy of reaching that goal, falling to Godwin Heights in the boys basketball state quarterfinals 56-52 at Thornapple Kellogg H.S. in Middleville.
It's the only loss of the season for Lakeshore, which now graduates 11 of the program's 14 varsity players.
Seniors Harold Wiggins and Keith Brushwyler each scored 21 points in the loss for the Lancers, which trailed 14-10 after one quarter and 25-22 at halftime. Godwin Heights pushed the lead to four heading to the 4th quarter and were able to keep in there by the end of the night.
