NOTRE DAME, Ind. – University of Notre Dame senior cornerback Connor Cavalaris, senior quarterback Charlie Fiessinger and senior running back Tyler Plantz have been awarded scholarships for the 2014-15 school year by head coach Brian Kelly.

Cavalaris (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) has played in 14 career games since joining the program as a walk-on prior to the 2011 season. He has registered seven career tackles. Cavalaris had five stops during the 2012 campaign, including a pair of stops on special teams against Alabama in the 2013 Bowl Championship Series title game. He is enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business as an accountancy major.

Fiessinger (Mason, Ohio/Moeller) has appeared in one game over his two-year career (Wake Forest in 2012), but he has played a vital role in the Irish offensive success. He has been responsible for signaling in play calls to the offense each of the last two years. Fiessinger is enrolled in the College of Science as an applied and computational mathematics and statistics major.

Plantz (Frankfort, Ill./Providence Catholic) has played in seven games since joining the program as a walk-on prior to the 2012 season. He appeared in six games in 2012, predominantly on kickoff returns. Plantz graduated in May 2014 from the Mendoza College of Business with a degree in finance. He is enrolled in the Graduate School taking finance coursework.

The Irish open the 2014 season against Rice at 3:30 p.m. EDT Aug. 30 at Notre Dame Stadium.
