Jimmies know undefeated run can end at any moment

Jimtown appears destined for a trip to Lucas Oil Stadium.

But the undefeated Jimmies know their fabulous run can end at any moment with an off night. Jimtown hosts Whitko Friday night in the Class 3A Sectional Semifinals. Whitko upset Garrett last week and the coaching staff has reminded its team about that.

"At any time anyone can upset anyone," senior quarterback Brody Olson says. "Whitko did it last week over Garrett. We're coming out here and not taking anyone for granted."

"You think about making the run all the way but you also have to think about all the teams we still have ahead of us," senior Evan Oblinger explains. "Garrett, you'd think they'd lose. They lost to Whitko. That can happen any day to any team."

The fact that they are ranked #1 in the state and 10-0 doesn't matter anymore.

"Undefeated doesn't mean anything," senior wideout Carter Gill says. "I understand that. We have to go out there with our best ability and not think we're undefeated. We gotta think this could be our last game. If we go out with that attitude, we'll be prepared for the game night on Friday."

Jimtown and Whitko kickoff at 7:30 Friday at Knepp Field. The winner faces Heritage or Tippy Valley in the sectional finals.
