With two regular season games left, it's now or never for a Notre Dame Hockey turnaround.

The Irish Icers (16-15-3) have dropped five-straight contests, and welcome in a Michigan State team (18-12-3) this weekend that has won five of its last six.

Not exactly the recipe for a strong final push.

It would be easy to quit if the Irish didn't still have so much for which to play. They could finish as high as sixth or as low as ninth in the CCHA standings and need just six points to clinch a home series in the first round of the playoffs.

While it may be difficult to put a finger on just what ails the Irish, goal scoring has certainly been an issue. In the month of February, Notre Dame is 1-5 and has scored only six times.

Despite their struggles, the Irish maintain that when they do turn things around, they will be stronger for it. "A team that goes through adversity I think becomes closer," senior wing Billy Maday explained. "I think this is a great challenge for us and I think that everyone in our locker room trusts each other to get through this. And once we do I think we're going to be closer for it."

"I think we're going to have a lot more confidence, which I think we might be lacking right now. So once we get that I think any team that plays us is probably going to have some struggles with us."

The puck drops on senior night at the Compton Family Ice Arena at 8:37p.m. Friday, followed by a 7:38p.m. face-off on Saturday.
