Irish Icers fall in final hockey game ever at the Joyce Center

Notre Dame made a remarkable 3rd period comeback but the deficit was too large to overcome as the Irish Icers lost 4-3 to Ohio State in the final hockey game ever at the Joyce Center.

The Buckeyes scored a pair of goals in each of the first two periods to open up a 4-0 lead.

The Irish scored three goals in the final period and threatened in the final seconds as the ghosts of Notre Dame's longtime hockey home attempt to lift the Icers to glory one last time.

Notre Dame is now 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in CCHA play.

They will open up the new Compton Family Ice Arena next Friday night against RPI at 7:30.
