Believe it or not, Skylar Diggins' days of playing in South Bend are coming to a close.
The Washington High grad will be honored on Senior Night at Notre Dame Tuesday along with Kalia Turner as the 2nd ranked Irish welcome Syracuse to town for a 7pm tipoff.
It won't be Skylar's last game at Purcell Pavilion. That will come Monday when Notre Dame welcomes in UConn in the regular season finale.
"It won't be quite as emotional because we'll have one more game at home--so that's a good thing," Irish coach Muffet McGraw explains. "With the Connecticut game--there will be a lot of hype. We really didn't think that would be an appropriate time to have the Senior night. They'll feel it a little bit at the Connecticut game because it is truly her last game at home but this is a time for the crowd and everyone else to really celebrate what these two have done for us."
McGraw says the Syracuse team the Irish will face Tuesday is the best Orange Squad she's seen since Notre Dame joined the Big East.
