The University of Notre Dame softball team countered an early 3-0 deficit in the first inning with 10 unanswered runs, and ultimately scored 11 of the game's final 12 tallies on its way to an 11-4 non-conference win over Michigan State Wednesday night at Melissa Cook Stadium.
The No.23/25 Irish (22-7) won their fourth consecutive game, and improved to 3-0 at Melissa Cook Stadium this season. Notre Dame is now 8-1 all-time against Michigan State.
Senior captain Chloe Saganowich paced the Notre Dame offense with a 2-for-3 day at the plate, adding a home run and a career-high five RBI. Sophomore Micaela Arizmendi contributed a two-run homer as part of her three RBI for the game.
