Notre Dame remains on the outside looking in for the Top 25 in both the Associated Press and Coaches Poll despite a 37-34 victory over #22 Arizona State Saturday night in North Texas.

ND is receiving the 2nd most votes of teams not in the top 25 in both polls, essentially ranking them 27th in the country.

The Irish are 4-2 heading into its bye week. There is not a single two-loss team ranked in either Top 25 but Notre Dame's two losses are to Oklahoma and Michigan, two undefeated teams ranked in the Top 20 in each poll. Oklahoma is ranked 12th and Michigan 18th in the AP Poll.

With the loss to Notre Dame, Arizona State drops out of the Top 25.

Notre Dame is off this week, then returns to action against USC on October 19th at Notre Dame Stadium. The Irish are not scheduled to face another ranked team until the season finale against Stanford. The Cardinal are undefeated ranked 5th in the country.

Alabama, Oregon, Clemson and Ohio State remain the top four ranked teams.
