With Christmas here, we asked members of the Irish football team what they asked Santa for Christmas.
"French pressed coffee maker and some clothes, some socks and some underwear," said Irish tight end Troy Niklas rather quickly.
Irish players by the way---they're already receiving some pretty big bowl gifts. Like a new Play Station 4 courtesy of the Yankees and the Pinstripe Bowl. But they are hoping Santa delivers them one more major bowl gift.
"Just a win against Rutgers," says running back Cam McDaniel.
"Hopefully a big bowl ring," adds defensive end Sheldon Day.
"I asked him for a big victory over Rutgers," center Matt Hegarty says. "It is the only way we can send Zach [Martin] and [Chris] Watt out at this point for as much as they have done for the program. It would be awesome to send them out with a great win and a great experience in New York."
"I would say first and foremost just health and happiness," Irish coach Brian Kelly says. "I would like to see certainly a win for Notre Dame football and maybe lighten up on that schedule in the future."
Notre Dame plays Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl Saturday at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York.
